AutoCAD is a commercial CAD software application developed and marketed by Autodesk. However, there are some key differences between the two programs. Both programs work on Windows, macOS and Linux. Both programs are CAD software applications for 2D design and drafting. QCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) software application for 2D design and drafting. If you need a more powerful application with a wide range of features, QCAD is a better option. So, which application is right for you? If you’re looking for a simple, free 2D CAD application, Librecad is a good choice. QCAD, on the other hand, is a more complex application, with a wide range of features and tools for more advanced users. Librecad is designed to be easy to use, with a simplified interface and a focus on basic 2D drawing. Another key difference is the level of complexity. Librecad is completely free to use, while QCAD costs $49 for the Professional Edition. One key difference between Librecad and QCAD is the price. Librecad is released under the GNU General Public License, while QCAD is released under the Qt Commercial License. QCAD, on the other hand, is developed by a single company, RibbonSoft. Librecad is a community-driven project, with contributions coming from a variety of individuals and organizations. I can import dxf without problems (but the import it's not working so well, text and layers are imported very very badly)Ĭode: Select all Converting: įile "/home/user/Programs/FreeCADmasterRelease/Mod/Draft/importDWG.py", line 106, in insertįile "/home/user/Programs/FreeCADmasterRelease/Mod/Draft/importDXF.py", line 2838, in insertįile "/home/user/Programs/FreeCADmasterRelease/Mod/Draft/importDXF.py", line 2191, in processdxfįile "/home/user/.local/share/FreeCADmaster/Macro/dxfReader.py", line 372, in readDXFįile "/home/user/.local/share/FreeCADmaster/Macro/dxfReader.py", line 95, in runįile "/home/user/.local/share/FreeCADmaster/Macro/dxfReader.py", line 288, in start_sectionįile "/home/user/.local/share/FreeCADmaster/Macro/dxfReader.py", line 196, in handleObjectįile "/usr/lib/python3.9/codecs.py", line 322, in decode In the report view console It says to me that the conversion it's completed succesfully, but I cannot use Fcad, it freezes the interface I can move the mouse, but the buttons do not respond, even if I wait a lot of time. ![]() So I think there is some problem in the importer module, maybe i'm wrong here but it appears to me the same error with two different binary importers/converters. But if I choose the path of the ODA binary in /bin, it freezes too Freecad, exactly like the Qcad importer. ![]() Tried too with ODA file importer debian package, that in Linux standalone (now with Qt) works very well for conversion dwg=>dxf. I've tried the Qcad pro line to import it, but without any success, it freezes Freecad (there is some old thread in the forum about). So I'd like to open Dwg files directly in Fcad, more quickly, even if the import it's not good like in Qcad pro. Ok I have QCAD pro, and it open my files very very well.īut I don't want open every time a dwg, save it as dxf, and import it in Fcad, make the right scale (it changes everytime from every time for every project, a real pain). ![]()
